Class with Mr. Holden

Mr. Holden is a great teacher his style is unique and he’s funny at the same time,
He knows when to joke around and when to get serious. I had Mr. Holden for a teacher twice this summer and each time I’ve realized that he is a better teacher than I thought. I never thought I’d be saying this but overall my experience of being taught by Mr. Holden was one of the best experiences I’ve had. It may not appear but I’ve learned a lot from him. Even thought I get on his nerves I still like him. (NO HOMO!). But really I what to leave today on a positive note so with no further a due I’d like to thank Mr. Holden for what he’s done, it may not seem like he’s done much for me but he has.

THANK YOU,
Mr. Holden

Internet Site Blocker

(LIL' WAYNE THA BEST RAPPA ALIVE)

I think they should block some websites because there are some sites that underage children shouldn’t see. There are some aperverts out there who look for under age kids to chat with. They also harass people on the chat line sites, and that’s how people meet strangers and give them personal information and something ends up happing to them. The site blocker at school is a good one because it does let you go to almost any sites. I think if they didn’t have the blocks on the computers at school kids wouldn’t get their work done. The Internet is a major distraction at school. However there are many sites that kids are able to get on at school that are a big distraction like me I like looking up lyrics to all the new songs. I think all parent with children under the age of fifth teen should have a blocker on their computer and they should also monitor there kids site that they go on,

point-of-veiw

Point of view is a way you look at something. POV can be justified in three different ways first, second, and third person. First person POV is when you put yourself in place of a character by using the word “I”. First person is just commanding people to do something. First person POV is used most in books and movies. Second person POV isn’t really used so I’m not going to waste my time writing about it. Third person POV on the other hand is used frequently in movies. It’s like a person talking to another person. The dialogue is direct.

The qualities a book has to possess in order to be fun is excitement, situational irony, and drama. If a book doesn’t have excitement I won’t be into it and then after a while I will put it down because I am easily distracted. A book with excitement and action will catch my attention and I will want to know what’s happening next. A book with irony will confuse me but that will make me want to know what’s really going to happen. I will have me thinking one thing will happen and a whole different thing happens. When a story has drama I get vary involved because theirs arguments, or even fights.

Why are you in summer school?
I’m in summer school because I quit my job and my mother said I have to get a job or get out and go to school she said she didn’t want me to waste my summer doing nothing. So I tried to find a job, but I couldn’t I came to school. I didn’t really fail a class.
What are you going to do differently?
I am going to get a job and I’m going to keep it.
What kinds of assignments do you like?
I like all of Mr. Holden’s assignments because if they are not fun he will make them fun by saying something funny.

I’ve learned many things while I’ve been in this class. Three things I have learned that I think are important is the love your parents have for you and the things that they would do to keep you from doing things that they think will hurt you. The second thing is how people look at others and how people react to other people. The third thing is how you can read or watch something and all the things you could write about what you’ve just read or watched. Those are just three of the important things I’ve learned.
I’ve learned these things by reading writing essays on what I read or watched.
The most boring part of class is when we read those boring ass stories. Then we have to write those long essays about them. Before I know it I be sleep, not on purpose but it’s when I get bored after while I get sleepy. Another boring part is when Mr. Holden talks to the class about something for too long that has nothing to do with class. Class also gets boring when he cracks unfunny jokes. The last thing that really makes class boring, as hell is when we come down here and do these boring ass blogs.
The most interesting thing is when we have class discussions about good subjects. Like yesterday we were talking about a lot of different subjects.

Class

At this point in Mr. holdens class we've read some stories. But the book were reading is Fences its about a man named Troy and his wife Rose, and there two children Cory and Gabriel. Troy grew up having to work for everything he has. Troy's son Cory really doesn't seem to understand that. Troy is hard on Cory not to be mean but to make sure he doesn't make any bad decisions. This is the best story we've read in Mr. Holdens class to me. Sometimes we read stories i really think we shouldn't read, or it may not really click in my mind. We do some activities in class like number puzzles but for the most part we are reading or writing.

Fences(Cory's point of veiw)

My dad doesn't like me. I mean the way he acts towards me makes me feel like im not wanted. He yells at me all the time it make s me feel like im less than a person. I want to play football but he doesn't want me to play. I guess he don't want me to make the same mistakes tha he did whatever that maybe. I see it like this he shoulld let me do what I want to do and just guide me through it.

I remember watching Rugrats with you. The days you took me to the donut shop. All the sweet and soft donuts like the twisted and the stuffed ones. I remember sleeping in my tent with you lying next to me. I remember you washing my stuffed Buddy toy it wash never the same then you took him away from me and I guess you expected me to get use to it. I remember going to SLU in the café with the big boys in blue. The nights you when to work and I couldn’t come I would cry because I hate being at home when weren’t there; most nights I would cry my self to sleep. Waking up to eggs, bacon, pancake, and homemade orange juice. But as I got older remembering turned into missing.
